I chose the ring finger.

We were playing a dating game in class when our professor (the searcher) threw this question to the searchees and to the entire class as well.

You need not believe, but I think, when you take a step back and honestly ask yourself what you want in a partner or what you're after in a relationship, then you just might find yourself nodding.

If you were to choose a particular finger, what would it be?

Would it be your thumb, index, middle, ring or pinky finger ?

Just pick. Some smart guy figured that your choice meant something. According to him, each finger corresponds to the ultimate thing you're after in a relationship or you're looking for in a partner. Go validate and highlight the next line.

thumb:sex, index: looks, middle:money/stability, ring:intelligence, pinky:true love

More than a Yo-Break

Last night, I had brief yo break with Atty Dy, Frank and Johan and ended up with a colloquy about law and life (yes, how profound!)

Of the things he shared, what struck me was his admission that he had no clear straight path, and where he is now is a result of choices made in default, in flight and in the moment. It took him 10 ten years of practice to say that things are getting easier. The man had to build his name for himself, because unlike the lucky ones, he had no firm nor a business to inherit. He had to trust himself, his guts and his faith. His direction was his commitment to his wife and kid. (Mind you, his commitment to his wife, then his girlfriend, that no matter how terrible the work load is, he will see her everyday. He kept his promise. Dinner at 7 at best, wee hour visit and at worst, he makes it just in time for breakfast, but he was there. He is there.)

This initially haunted me because THAT IS ME, but when it all sank in, it was comforting. Look at him now though, he's steady, youthful and content.

I think most us are somewhere in between the vague and the unknown. It is character and faith which will direct you to your tipping point when you're pushed to a corner and prodded to make your choices.

So, I guess, I am doing something right. I am building character and faith now. I have a very vague idea of how things will go along, but at least I want to be sure how i will play along.

Atty Dy described Dean CLV as a man with a clear straight path, with a single mind in view. CLV can be epitomized by some line i picked up in the paper this morning: “No matter the need, do not steal; no matter the reward, do not cheat; no matter the punishment, do not lie. Live an honorable life. Live by your code – death before dishonor.”

Tough code, but it wouldn't hurt to at least aspire.

postscript: Frank, I have faith in you. I'll be waiting to beam with pride as you defy all the odds.

Ten Conyomandments
by Gerry Avelino and Arik Abu
(taken from TLS-Menagerie)

Conyo here, conyo there, conyo everywhere! Here at La Salle, conyospeak has become an unofficial language as a good chunk of the student body knows, or maybe even mastered the socialite tongue. However, one must never forget the basics of the conyo and we thusly bring you: The Ten Conyomandments.

1.  Thou shall make gamit "make+pandiwa".
ex.
"Let's make pasok na to our class!"
"Wait lang! I'm making kain pa!"
"Come on na, we can't make hintay anymore! It's in Andrew pa, you know?"

2. Thou shall make kalat "noh", "diba" and "eh" in your pangungusap.
ex.
"I don't like to make lakad in the baha nga, no? Eh diba it's like, so eew, diba?"
"What ba: stop nga being maarte noh?"
"Eh as if you want naman also, diba?"

3. When making describe a whatever, always say "It's SO pang-uri!"
ex.
"It's so malaki, you know, and so mainit!"
"I know right? So sarap nga, eh!"
"You're making me inggit naman.. I'll make bili nga my own burger."

4. When you are lalaki, make parang punctuation "dude", 'tsong" or "pare"
ex.
"Dude, ENGANAL is so hirap, pare."
"I know, tsong, I got bagsak nga in quiz one, eh"

5. Thou shall know you know? I know right!
ex.
"My bag is so bigat today, you know"
"I know, right! We have to make dala pa kasi the jumbo Physics book eh!"

6. Make gawa the plural of pangngalans like in English or Spanish.
ex. "I have so many tigyawats, oh!"

7. Like, when you can make kaya, always use like. Like, I know right?
ex.
"Like, it's so init naman!"
"Yah! The aircon, it's, like sira!"

8. Make yourself feel so galing by translating the last word of your sentence, you know, your pangungusap?
ex. "Kakainis naman in the LRT! How plenty tao, you know, people?"
"It's so tight nga there, eh, you know, masikip?"

9. Make gamit of plenty abbreviations, you know, daglat?"
ex.
"Like, OMG! It's like traffic sa LRT"
"I know right? It's so kaka!"
      "Kaka?"
      "Kakaasar!"

10. Make gamit the pinakamaarte voice and pronunciation you have para full effect!
ex.
"I'm, like, making aral at the Arrhneo!"
      "Me naman, I'm from Lazzahl!"

OMG! Thanks TLS for this article. It's like so friggin benta, right?
So what are you waiting for? Go and make kalat na this article para people can like see it and make tawa also. HAHAHAH

aside...

Warning to the proud to be called coño. Recalling from my Kom I class, coño is actually a spanish term for cunt---same level as the slang meaning of cojones (testicles). Well, still flattered to be called one?

Ayos lang din. Culprits do sound ridiculous. Minsan nakakatawa pa. Pero madalas, nakakataas ng kilay, nakakagulantang--- not necessarily annoying, just bothering.

I knew it! :(

knew it even before answering the ENNEAGRAM TEST.

i'm DIANE, the HELPER.

Enneagram Personality Type Indicator Results

Your highest score will indicate you basic type, or it will be among the top 2-3 scores. Low scores in some type might come out negative. That's perfectly normal.

For best results, you should answer all the questions that apply.

How to Get Along With Me

  • Share fun times with me.
  • Take an interest in my problems, though I will probably try to focus on yours.

    In Intimate Relationships

  • knowing what people need and being able to make their lives better

  • being sensitive to and perceptive about others' feelings
  • being enthusiastic and fun-loving, and having a good sense of humor

What's Hard About Being a Two

  • not being able to say no
  • having low self-esteem
  • feeling drained from overdoing for others
  • not doing things I really like to do for myself for fear of being selfish
  • criticizing myself for not feeling as loving as I think I should
  • being upset that others don't tune in to me as much as I tune in to them
  • working so hard to be tactful and considerate that I suppress my real feelings

Twos as Children Often

  • are outwardly compliant
  • are popular or try to be popular with other children
  • act coy, precocious, or dramatic in order to get attention
