I chose the ring finger.

We were playing a dating game in class when our professor (the searcher) threw this question to the searchees and to the entire class as well.

You need not believe, but I think, when you take a step back and honestly ask yourself what you want in a partner or what you're after in a relationship, then you just might find yourself nodding.

If you were to choose a particular finger, what would it be?

Would it be your thumb, index, middle, ring or pinky finger ?

Just pick. Some smart guy figured that your choice meant something. According to him, each finger corresponds to the ultimate thing you're after in a relationship or you're looking for in a partner. Go validate and highlight the next line.

thumb:sex, index: looks, middle:money/stability, ring:intelligence, pinky:true love

More than a Yo-Break

Last night, I had brief yo break with Atty Dy, Frank and Johan and ended up with a colloquy about law and life (yes, how profound!)

Of the things he shared, what struck me was his admission that he had no clear straight path, and where he is now is a result of choices made in default, in flight and in the moment. It took him 10 ten years of practice to say that things are getting easier. The man had to build his name for himself, because unlike the lucky ones, he had no firm nor a business to inherit. He had to trust himself, his guts and his faith. His direction was his commitment to his wife and kid. (Mind you, his commitment to his wife, then his girlfriend, that no matter how terrible the work load is, he will see her everyday. He kept his promise. Dinner at 7 at best, wee hour visit and at worst, he makes it just in time for breakfast, but he was there. He is there.)

This initially haunted me because THAT IS ME, but when it all sank in, it was comforting. Look at him now though, he's steady, youthful and content.

I think most us are somewhere in between the vague and the unknown. It is character and faith which will direct you to your tipping point when you're pushed to a corner and prodded to make your choices.

So, I guess, I am doing something right. I am building character and faith now. I have a very vague idea of how things will go along, but at least I want to be sure how i will play along.

Atty Dy described Dean CLV as a man with a clear straight path, with a single mind in view. CLV can be epitomized by some line i picked up in the paper this morning: “No matter the need, do not steal; no matter the reward, do not cheat; no matter the punishment, do not lie. Live an honorable life. Live by your code – death before dishonor.”

Tough code, but it wouldn't hurt to at least aspire.

postscript: Frank, I have faith in you. I'll be waiting to beam with pride as you defy all the odds.

The Ten Coñomandments

forwarding a post.
for your laughing pleasure....
benta, promise!

Ten Conyomandments
by Gerry Avelino and Arik Abu
(taken from TLS-Menagerie)

Conyo here, conyo there, conyo everywhere! Here at La Salle, conyospeak has become an unofficial language as a good chunk of the student body knows, or maybe even mastered the socialite tongue. However, one must never forget the basics of the conyo and we thusly bring you: The Ten Conyomandments.

1.  Thou shall make gamit "make+pandiwa".
ex.
"Let's make pasok na to our class!"
"Wait lang! I'm making kain pa!"
"Come on na, we can't make hintay anymore! It's in Andrew pa, you know?"

2. Thou shall make kalat "noh", "diba" and "eh" in your pangungusap.
ex.
"I don't like to make lakad in the baha nga, no? Eh diba it's like, so eew, diba?"
"What ba: stop nga being maarte noh?"
"Eh as if you want naman also, diba?"

3. When making describe a whatever, always say "It's SO pang-uri!"
ex.
"It's so malaki, you know, and so mainit!"
"I know right? So sarap nga, eh!"
"You're making me inggit naman.. I'll make bili nga my own burger."

4. When you are lalaki, make parang punctuation "dude", 'tsong" or "pare"
ex.
"Dude, ENGANAL is so hirap, pare."
"I know, tsong, I got bagsak nga in quiz one, eh"

5. Thou shall know you know? I know right!
ex.
"My bag is so bigat today, you know"
"I know, right! We have to make dala pa kasi the jumbo Physics book eh!"

6. Make gawa the plural of pangngalans like in English or Spanish.
ex. "I have so many tigyawats, oh!"

7. Like, when you can make kaya, always use like. Like, I know right?
ex.
"Like, it's so init naman!"
"Yah! The aircon, it's, like sira!"

8. Make yourself feel so galing by translating the last word of your sentence, you know, your pangungusap?
ex. "Kakainis naman in the LRT! How plenty tao, you know, people?"
"It's so tight nga there, eh, you know, masikip?"

9. Make gamit of plenty abbreviations, you know, daglat?"
ex.
"Like, OMG! It's like traffic sa LRT"
"I know right? It's so kaka!"
      "Kaka?"
      "Kakaasar!"

10. Make gamit the pinakamaarte voice and pronunciation you have para full effect!
ex.
"I'm, like, making aral at the Arrhneo!"
      "Me naman, I'm from Lazzahl!"

OMG! Thanks TLS for this article. It's like so friggin benta, right?
So what are you waiting for? Go and make kalat na this article para people can like see it and make tawa also. HAHAHAH

aside...

Warning to the proud to be called coño. Recalling from my Kom I class, coño is actually a spanish term for cunt---same level as the slang meaning of cojones (testicles). Well, still flattered to be called one?

Ayos lang din. Culprits do sound ridiculous. Minsan nakakatawa pa. Pero madalas, nakakataas ng kilay, nakakagulantang--- not necessarily annoying, just bothering.

I knew it! :(

knew it even before answering the ENNEAGRAM TEST.

i'm DIANE, the HELPER.

Enneagram Personality Type Indicator Results

Your highest score will indicate you basic type, or it will be among the top 2-3 scores. Low scores in some type might come out negative. That's perfectly normal.

For best results, you should answer all the questions that apply.

Type 1Type 2Type 3Type 4Type 5Type 6Type 7Type 8Type 9

The Nine Personality Types of the Enneagram

Type 1: The Reformer. The rational, idealistic type.
Type 2: The Helper. The caring, nurturing type.
Type 3: The Motivator. The adaptable, success-oriented type.
Type 4: The Artist. The intuitive, reserved type.

Type 9: The Peacemaker. The easygoing, accommodating type.

The Helper (the Two)

Helpers are warm, concerned, nurturing, and sensitive to other people's needs.

How to Get Along With Me

  • Tell me that you appreciate me. Be specific.
  • Share fun times with me.
  • Take an interest in my problems, though I will probably try to focus on yours.
  • Let me know that I am important and special to you.
  • Be gentle if you decide to criticize me.

    In Intimate Relationships

  • Reassure me that I am interesting to you.
  • Reassure me often that you love me.
  • Tell me I'm attractive and that you're glad to be seen with me.

What I Like About Being a Two

  • being able to relate easily to people and to make friends
  • knowing what people need and being able to make their lives better
  • being generous, caring, and warm
  • being sensitive to and perceptive about others' feelings
  • being enthusiastic and fun-loving, and having a good sense of humor

What's Hard About Being a Two

  • not being able to say no
  • having low self-esteem
  • feeling drained from overdoing for others
  • not doing things I really like to do for myself for fear of being selfish
  • criticizing myself for not feeling as loving as I think I should
  • being upset that others don't tune in to me as much as I tune in to them
  • working so hard to be tactful and considerate that I suppress my real feelings

Twos as Children Often

  • are very sensitive to disapproval and criticism
  • try hard to please their parents by being helpful and understanding
  • are outwardly compliant
  • are popular or try to be popular with other children
  • act coy, precocious, or dramatic in order to get attention
  • are clowns and jokers (the more extroverted Twos), or quiet and shy (the more introverted Twos)

Twos as Parents

  • are good listeners, love their children unconditionally, and are warm and encouraging (or suffer guilt if they aren't)
  • are often playful with their children
  • wonder: "Am I doing it right?" "Am I giving enough?" "Have I caused irreparable damage?"
  • can become fiercely protective

abrin 1.5

abrin turns 2 in october, but boy does he look beyond his age!
we are crazy about him!

i agree with my theo teacher (atty obieta) now, more than ever, when he said that a child brings meaning to a (marriage) family. they make you bond more. they make you patient. they make you generous. they make you self-less.

kung pwede lang.
joke!

Unedited La Familia Photo Sesh

yes.
maarte ang pamilya ko
well, technically, it was for my mom.
she has been away for 5 years and missed a lot of photo-ops.
and if this will make her feel better, then so be it.

my last memory of a complete and decent family picture was around 1st year or grade 7, kaya pagbigyan nyo na kami.

from 5, our family grew to 7 already.
we now have mikki( my sister-in-law) and my uber adorable nephew abrin!

kunwari pa ang lahat na hindi mahilig magpapic (except for my brother who's undeniably a camwhore) pero nag enjoy naman lahat, even my dad.

i think we should do something like this more often.
kaya lang magastos na effort pa.

oh well, it was worth it.
wish i took pictures behind the scenes.
maybe, next time

may's 25th birthday

cheap-thrill beach trip gone crazy!

may 22 2008
destination: sigayan beach (laiya, san juan, batangas)

we prayed for good weather √
crossed my fingers for good company √

by slex petron:
crew complete: nev, jon, frank and diane
gas √, coolant √, atf√, oil√, and tires√

and then, startollway, KM 74, the trooper starts chugging down..
we crawled till KM 78. took us almost 3 hours...

transmission failure.

then we gave up.
nev's uncle rescued and towed us to tambo, batangas
we left the trooper along caltex-ayala along laurel hi-way

nev's cousin anne was generous enough to lend us her car
travelled about 100k to laiya for a good 1hr.45 mins
texted my brother we're off to laiya (which came too late. apparently, the tow service has been deployed)
lunch, dip, frisbee throws, shower (all in 1hr.30mins )
then off to lipa again to meet the tow truck who has been waiting since 3ish.
got back to lipa around 530 with an impatient tow service-driver waiting demanding P300 for every hour spent waiting (heller! bakit hindi mo sinabi kanina when i called and checked on you?!)

manila by 830pm.
whew. stress.
boys, salamat ha! sorry again for messing the day!
wala sanang nadala!

contrary to my fear of the hounding confrontation....
when i got home, they were all in bed.
by friday (the next day), the animosity has already been diffused.

thanks mom! thanks kuya! thanks dad!

but i'm still waiting.
my dad can be like a ticking bomb waiting to explode.
i think i just pulled the pin more than half-way...

Orgeeeee-E goes to CAMSUR

it was a block thing.
and it is.

knowing ALS 1E,
i was again the muse or
should i say one of the joes.

thanks to nev for making the trip possible.
thanks to my roomies porter and diño who were uber sweet (ako ang OP, kala ko pa naman ako ang moment, de joke!)
thanks to jon who was willing to take the fall all the time but never napikon.
and thanks to our superb photographers, hub (http://thehubbit.multiply.com/) and pau (http://ganjakrackz.multiply.com/),
who immortalized this camsur adventure!

kudos, my friends!
you made my summer!
--------------------------------------
april 20
830, ETD araneta bus station
it was a 10 hr bus ride from manila to naga (look for the isarog lines, lazy boy seats)

april 21
from naga, a 2-hour land trip to sabang port, another 2-hour boat ride to guijalo, then a 10 min rough ride to the city municipality of caramaon (REX INN)

trek up to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary
spelunking to Pulapnit Cave and late afternoon beaching at Bag-ing, where we were welcomed by an army guy prancing around armed.
e siga ang bangkero namin. isang kuskos, ayos.

april 22
passed through Cotivas, the island cemetery. we even caught a family sailing their way (like their procession) to the cemetery.

1st stop: Matukad. giving in to pau's prodding, we jumped about 400meters from the shore and swam our way there. goodness, we were swimming against the current and my string bikinis wont hold! but yeah, slow, but i got there enjoying the underwater landscape. the entire shore was literally lined with starfishes. be careful with the shore though, Hub stubbed his toe with the sharp mangrove remnants.

a decent frisbee scrimmage, a little skim boarding ( a lot for nev though), some camwhorring and lunch before the French Survivor Island dude asked as to leave.

2nd stop: Sabitan-laya. i loved the cove. it was the perfect siesta spot. more kulitan by the sandbar up until the tide hit high enough to call it a day.

since caramoan hasn't been mapped yet, snorkeling/diving in the good spots were wanting. maybe, next time. but so far, impressive beach shores. average water and reefs.

april 23
boat trip and land trip back to naga city
lunch at biggs diner (i heart!)

Camsur Wakeboarding Complex.
boarding all day long.
with weary biceps, palms and forearms, we ate away CWC's Laing Pizza in a swoop. besides Bigss, this was the only decent Bicol food i caught.
i missed Bicol's good food, but, I will be back.

there's still naga (again) and donsol.

although, i came home with real great goodies. RPM pastries is a good brand. try their pili tart, pili cakes, mango cake, tombones (i think), mazapana de pili, honey glazed pilinut and their apas!

fab trip!
adventure: average
spending:low budget
food: disappointing
company: they rock!

fave hirit: (Jon) ayaw kung kumain ng crab! crab na ako! cannibalism yun!
